KNITTED KNOCKERS
Please join us in our community challenge to donate 100 pairs of Knitted Knockers to breast cancer survivors during the holidays.

We can work together to bring warm thoughts and well wishes to 100 women who experienced a mastectomy due to breast cancer.
Here’s the challenge: you can buy specific yarn ($4.00 per ball of yarn) which will make up to 2 pairs, you can knit or crochet, or you can stuff them. By working together, we can meet our goal of providing 100 high quality pairs by the end of December. Are you a high school student at EHS? You can earn 2 hours per pair of B-cup and 3 hours per pair of C-cup. Most likely, somebody in your family or friend group knits. You can also find somebody to donate the yarn, or pick some up from EHS. If you need to go to EHS for yarn, contact Mrs. Goodnough at the number below to arrange pick-up.
1 yarn roll = one B cup and one C cup, which are the most needed sizes
You can crochet or knit them using a template or instructional video
A “B” cup takes on average 2 hours and a “C” cup takes on average 3 hours to complete, if you have experience knitting or crocheting.
We can provide practice yarn, hooks, and a video if you want to learn how to crochet them.
Due to the sensitivity of the area, the yarn for the Knitted Knockers can only be made from specific yarn brands. We use the yarn below, because they meet the requirements, and are available at both Walmart and Michaels. In fact, Michaels’ Black Friday sale has all yarn as buy two, get one free! Yarn can be purchased online or in the store.
Want more information? Join us December 10th at 6pm for our general PTSA meeting and we can talk knockers and distance learning needs. For more information about the meeting call Chandra Goodnough at 619-736-4337.
